About Blu:moza

Born and raised in the Ore Mountains, a region where craftsmanship has always held a special place among its people, it felt natural for my family to manufacture and rebuild a wide variety of things ourselves.

From an early age, I fell in love with the process of creating. I loved painting, drawing, and sewing — I always had a pen or paintbrush in my hands. Later, I was constantly seen with scissors, glue, and construction paper. After I bought my first sewing machine, I began turning my sketches into fashion (which, at first, was more or less wearable).

My passion for working with metals was inherited from my father, a precision tool mechanic, and my grandfather, a professional watchmaker.

Fascinated by the concept of adornment throughout human history, I prefer to use precision tools to create unique pieces of jewellery.

Two significant art-historical epochs have deeply influenced and continue to inspire me: on one hand, Art Nouveau, with its pursuit of a fusion between art and life; and on the other, Bauhaus, with its goal of emancipating craft from industrialization. “The goal of all artistic activity is construction […] Architects, sculptors, painters — everyone must return to craftsmanship.”

According to alchemy, an ancient branch of natural philosophy, gold is associated with the sun, while silver represents the moon. As I was born under a full moon — meaning the moon stood directly opposite the sun — one of my goals is to combine these two opposing forces in my creations.

I primarily work with fair-trade and/or recycled silver and gold.

My designs are ever-evolving, as I am a student of life and of the experiences that shape me. In a way, they are reflections of my own personal growth.

I love learning new skills along the way; experimenting with new techniques and combining different forms of art will always be a characteristic feature of my creations.
